One of television’s most respected dealmakers, Newman worked with longtime executive partner Dana Walden to build 20th Century Fox Television into arguably the most successful studio in the business.

Now, with the Walt Disney Company’s acquisition of the bulk of Fox’s entertainment operations, Newman has stepped down from his post and is said to be considering launching a new venture of his own.

As an exec, Newman was involved in developing game-changing broadcast and cable TV series such as “Modern Family,” “The Americans,” “Empire,” “American Horror Story,” and “Homeland,” from top producers including Ryan Murphy, Howard Gordon, Seth MacFarlane, Steve Levitan, and Christopher Lloyd. Newman joined 20th TV in 1990, and began serving as EVP of the studio in 1997.

Newman started his career as an attorney, earning his J.D. from USC Law Center and his B.A. from Yale University.
